A SWIMMIN' FOOL

Tomorrow is the Pea Mango Trashcan Triathlon and I am bound and determined to hit the swim as hard as I can. Normally I just settle into a pace that's not too hard, that I figure I can hold for the race and then swim the last 200 yards all out.

But tomorrow, I'm going out there to swim as hard as I can for as long as I can. That may only be the first 25 yards but at least it's a start ...

Try and get a good draft. On a short swim like that there will be traffic congestion going out (with the buoy ropes, etc.), so take advantage of being somewhere in the middle of the pack. Coming back you may find you are on your own and that is when you will have to push hard and need something left for it. Wish I could do that race. Warm up a little before the start to get your heart rate accustomed to a fastish start.
